Masaf Spaces is a Pan-African nonprofit organization committed to advancing innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology across Africa. Serving as the first innovation hub in the Somali region of Ethiopia, Masaf Spaces offers a collaborative ecosystem that empowers individuals to transform ideas into sustainable ventures through mentorship, training programs, coworking spaces, and business incubation.

Addressing Real Challenges

Masaf Spaces tackles the challenges faced by youth, women, refugees, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) by bridging gaps in education, skills training, and access to resources. Through holistic programming, the organization fosters a culture of innovation and economic resilience.

Our model focuses on providing equipped workspaces, delivering skill-building workshops, incubating startups, cultivating collaborative networks, and empowering marginalized communities through tailored interventions.

Milestones and Highlights from 2024

• Business Networking Events – Hosted quarterly, including a partnership with Rays Microfinance and Shabeelle Bank to boost entrepreneurial finance literacy.

• Business Model Canvas Training – Held in collaboration with Jigjiga University and led by international expert Professor Yorum.

• NGO Coordination Event – Engaged 25 NGOs and institutions to foster strategic collaboration.

• Youth Empowerment Initiatives – YALI session, Five Million Coders workshop, book discussions, and skills development events.

• Technology and Innovation – Tech roadmap workshops, International Youth Day celebrations, and scholarship guidance sessions.

• Creative Arts – Art exhibitions, Somali Cultural Night, youth art competitions, and the launch of the Jigjiga Artist Club.

• Startup Support – Ten startups received incubation support including mentorship, training, office space, and seed grants.
