The Story behind Masaf Spaces

Masaf Spaces was founded by Ahmed Taman Hasen, a transformational leader from Degahbour, in Ethiopia’s Somali region. Ahmed’s journey started with the creation of the Degahbour Community Library, a reading and learning space that has impacted over 100,000 students, providing a haven for growth and inspiration.

Armed with degrees in Agricultural Resource Economics and Development Economics, Ahmed turned his passion for youth empowerment into action. After leading various youth initiatives and founding Masaf Consultancy, a business and digital training company, Ahmed launched Masaf Spaces in April 2024.

His vision was clear: to create a one-stop innovation hub that provides young innovators with the resources, mentorship, and community they need to succeed. From day one, Masaf Spaces has been a catalyst for change, bridging the gap between ambition and opportunity in one of Ethiopia’s most dynamic regions.
