Masaf Development Organization (MDO) is pleased to announce the recruitment of Ethiopian Mastercard Foundation Scholars and Alumni, as well as African Leadership Academy (ALA) Alumni, to join the Career Acceleration Pathways (CAP) program.
CAP is a structured, high-impact career development initiative designed to accelerate talented young leaders into meaningful, dignified, and purpose-driven careers across Africa.
Program Overview
Career Acceleration Pathways (CAP) is part of the Africa Career Networks (ACN) Affiliate Program, a pan-African effort to strengthen career readiness, sector awareness, and access to employment opportunities for Mastercard Foundation Scholars and alumni.
The program supports participants to:
- Clarify their career direction
- Assess their career readiness
- Build critical professional and leadership skills
- Gain sector-based exposure and practical experience
- Connect with employers
- Secure internship and job placements
CAP is designed to bridge the gap between education and employment by providing structured guidance, coaching, and real-world learning experiences.
Flexible & Mostly Virtual Delivery
To ensure accessibility for Scholars across Ethiopia — including those outside major cities — most CAP activities will be delivered virtually.
Participants can expect:
- Live virtual workshops and training sessions
- Online career readiness assessments
- Virtual coaching and CV review sessions
- Remote Sector Challenges (mini-internship simulations)
- Online employer engagement events
This flexible model allows Scholars and Alumni from across Ethiopia to participate without relocation or travel barriers.
In-person events may be organized selectively where feasible, but the core program is designed for nationwide virtual access.
What the Program Includes
Career Impact Readiness Assessment
Participants begin with a structured assessment to evaluate strengths, competencies, career clarity, and readiness for impactful work.
Career Development & Professional Training
Tailored sessions covering:
- Personal branding and career positioning
- CV and cover letter development
- Interview preparation and mock interviews
- Workplace professionalism and leadership skills
- Career planning and sector pathway awareness
Sector Challenges (Mini-Internships)
Participants engage in structured, real-world problem-solving experiences aligned with key sectors such as:
- Agribusiness
- Education
- Health
- Governance
- Infrastructure
- Professional Services
- Creative Industries
Sector Challenges simulate internship-level experience and build teamwork, communication, and analytical skills.
Employer Engagement & Networking
The program facilitates structured engagement with employers through:
- Virtual networking sessions
- Career panels
- Employer information sessions
- Internship and job matching support
Internship & Job Placement Support
Participants who complete the program receive support in accessing internships and employment opportunities aligned with their career interests.
